Over seventy businesspeople are expected to attend Carlisle Lake District Airport on 14th November as part of popular northern networking event LA23NET.
Attendees will get a full behind-the-scenes experience; going up the Air Traffic Control Tower, getting on the runway, firing a massive hose and living it up in the Executive Lounge. They will then hear from Airport Manager Paul Martland and Cumberland’s Chief Executive Des Moore.
Paul Martland will be bringing people up to speed on the airport’s upcoming opening to commercial flights, the retail propositions and share what customers can expect when using the airport.
Des Moore will discuss the predicted economic implications for Cumbria and the surrounding areas.
LA23NET is organised and run by the unconventional events company FLOCK and supported by The Cumberland whose Business Lending Manager Grant Seaton acts as Chair for each event.
Grant Seaton said “I am delighted that so many people will be coming to the airport, the project is undoubtedly one of the most important to happen in the county in recent times, so it is vital for business owners to have a better understanding of it.

Usually taking place on the second Wednesday of the month LA23NET aims to share Cumbria’s most relevant projects in a relaxed but informative platform. Open to business owners and decision makers the events now attract people from across the North and Scottish Borders.
Previous LA23NET evenings have included; Windermere Jetty, High Sheriff Simon Berry, Brexit debates and Creative Festivals. Upcoming highlights include an unconventional take on bread with Jonathan Warburton, which will take place at the theatre hall in Windermere School on March 7th.
