Over the coming months staff at Lakeland are aiming to raise enough money to Pay For a Day of Care at Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
During the summer staff from the Windermere based company are hoping to raise £2,126.46 to help the care, support and activities provided to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses. Staff at Lakeland will be organising a range of fundraising events in aid of the local charity.
Suzanne Allen, People Project Manager at Lakeland, said: “We heard a talk from some of the team at Jigsaw and were inspired and wanted to try and help. We love baking at Lakeland so have been having fun with cake sales, raffles and have lots of other activities planned towards our fundraising efforts.”
Natalie Bingham, Corporate Relationship Co-ordinator at Jigsaw, said: “We’re delighted that Lakeland have chosen to Pay For a Day for Jigsaw. We know that Lakeland already do lots of great work in the community and we can’t wait to work alongside them and support them in their efforts.”
Jigsaw is the children’s hospice for Cumbria. From Workington to Appleby, Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle, Jigsaw provides unique care and support to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses. Jigsaw’s dedicated team of trained and highly skilled nurses, health care assistants and activity co-ordinators provide the individualised, complex nursing and therapeutic support each child and young adult needs.
Pay For a Day allows the local community to pay for the entire running costs of the children’s hospice services for a whole 24 hours. Supporters can choose the day – and choose how to raise or donate the funds needed. Pay For a Day is a unique opportunity for every individual, family, company or organisation in Cumbria to make a real, immediate contribution to the care of the most vulnerable children in Cumbria.
There’s no amount of time needed to raise the £2,126.46 – and equally no limit to the number of days care people can choose to pay for. The Jigsaw fundraising team will provide people with all the support and encouragement they need to make their fundraising enjoyable, successful and rewarding.
