A partner at a Cumbrian accountants has been appointed as chair of a national association.
Heidi Marshall, who is a partner at Dodd & Co, has been named to lead the National Association of Specialist Dental Accountants and Lawyers.
She has taken on the role after being secretary of the association since 2015.
Heidi, based in the firm’s Penrith office, specialises in the healthcare industry and has a vast number of dental clients. She takes over the chair from Nick Ledingham, founding member of the association and its chairman since 2008.
Heidi said: “I have big shoes to fill and want to thank Nick for all the tireless work that he has put in over the 25 years that he has been involved with the association. He has helped shape it into the organisation that it is today.
“I feel a particular responsibility to the association as it was Paul Kendall, who was a partner at Dodd & Co in our Penrith office in 1997 who made the initial calls with the idea of forming an association. I hope that I will do him, Nick and all our members proud.”
The association was set up in 1997, for accountants and lawyers who specialise in acting for and looking after the accounting, tax and legal affairs of dentists, and is regarded as the leading centre of excellence for such matters.
Its members are required to pass strict admission criteria, and it regulates the performance of its members to ensure high standards of technical knowledge and service.
