Sellafield Ltd is the latest firm to terminate its membership of troubled business organisation CBI and its chief executive has resigned as regional chairman.
The CBI has been rocked after two women came forward with allegations that they had been raped while working at the organisation.
On Friday, a host of firms quit the group and the CBI suspended all policy and membership activity until its extraordinary general meeting in June.
A statement from Sellafield Ltd said it had terminated its membership with immediate effect.
CEO Martin Chown added: “At Sellafield Ltd we do not tolerate bullying, harassment, or misconduct and when we find it, we take action. We expect all of our partners to do the same.
“Regretfully, I have therefore resigned from my role as North West regional chair of the CBI with immediate effect. We have also terminated Sellafield Ltd’s membership of the CBI.”
