A leading business organisation has launched its 2023 awards.
Nominations are now open for the Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster awards.
There are 13 categories – including two new awards for Businessperson of the Year award and the Charity or Social Enterprise of the Year – and in the run-up to the event on November 16, the cluster will hold an awards workshop to help people with their submissions.
The awards are sponsored by Sellafield Ltd, which is also sponsoring the Business of the Year category.
Sellafield Ltd chief supply chain officer Susan Lussem said: “We are once again delighted to be sponsoring the BECBC Awards in the Business of the Year category.
“The event has become an annual tradition for businesses in Cumbria and the wider nuclear sector, honouring the prominent achievements of companies from our industry, and we are really looking forward to seeing examples of high achievement in a range of categories at the event.”
Dianne Richardson, CEO, BECBC, said: ” “The BECBC Business Awards are seen as one of the greatest highlights for our members. We are delighted to have Sellafield Ltd as sponsor for the Business of the Year category and grateful to all the sponsors for their support and hands-on involvement with the awards.
“All awards offer a fantastic opportunity for businesses and not-for-profits as well as educational organisations to showcase their work and leadership not only in Cumbria but beyond. We know from previous winners that these awards contribute heavily to the ongoing success of those involved.
“We are so excited to see who will apply and, of course, who will win. I am delighted to say that John Grainger has volunteered once more to be our head judge
and together he and a team of judges from our membership and sponsors will carefully determine this year’s winners.”
Nominations close on July 31 at noon.
Members can nominate themselves or other member organisations, all entrants must be BECBC members on May 1 2023 and sponsors cannot enter a
category they have sponsored.
Entries will be shortlisted during August and judging visits will be made between September 11 and October 20.
The awards dinner will take place on November 16 at Energus, Lillyhall, near Workington.
