Business leaders from across Cumbria gathered in Workington to take part in the inaugural Accelerate Your Business event this week.
Hosted by McMenon Engineering Services Ltd, the event was organised by Cumbria LEP, with Made Smarter, the Department for Business and Trade and InnovateUK.
Attendees were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the McMenon manufacturing facility and had a networking lunch on Tuesday.
People were updated on the latest support available for local businesses.
Paul Foster, head of programmes at Cumbria LEP, said: “We know that businesses which take the advice and support they can access tend to fare better than those who go it alone.
“It can be difficult to find the time when a business is struggling with staff shortages and challenges around profitability but engaging with Cumbria’s business support agencies can add real value and make sure that a business stays on the right track.
“At Cumbria LEP we are able to fund advisors to help guide a business through the challenges of finding finance, developing new products or services, improving productivity or looking at new ways of working to keep costs down.”
Cumbria LEP provides access to free events and workshops for businesses as part of the Cumbria Accelerator programme.
