Former trainee Vince celebrates another promotion with Bell Park Kerridge
Leading Cumbrian law firm Bell Park Kerridge has announced the promotion of one of its young solicitors and welcomes two new colleagues beginning their careers.
The Carlisle-based business has promoted commercial and residential property specialist Vince Lung to associate level.
The 26-year-old joined BPK as a trainee in 2019, qualifying two years later and now makes the next move in his career with his latest promotion.
He will be joined in BPK’s team by the firm’s latest trainee, Tors Glaister, who begins her legal career with a training contract after graduating from Durham University in 2022 with a degree in Law, and then Northumbria University in 2023 where she completed a legal practice course along with a Master of Law in Advanced Legal Practice.
The 23-year-old from Carlisle will begin her training in the firm’s Agrilaw team.
She will be joined in developing her career with BPK by Abigail Davidson who has started an apprenticeship as an office administrator.
Vince, a fluent Cantonese speaker who also plays as a scrum half for Carlisle Rugby Club said: “I’m delighted to make this next move in my career.
“I’ve made so much progress in my time here and had fantastic support from the team here. I’m now really excited about what the next few years might hold.”
Tors said: “This is a great opportunity to begin my legal career in a business where I know I’ll get the support and training I need to develop.
“I’m delighted to have graduated and am now keen to start progressing my career and learning as much as I can from the experienced team here.”
Abigail said: “This is the first step in my career and I’m really excited about what I can learn from the team here at all levels.”

Accountants expand team as recommendations spark growth
A Carlisle-based accountancy and tax advisory practice has added to its team providing support to businesses across a range of sectors.
Moynan Smith has invested in both the accountancy and payroll sides of its operations.
Richard Moffatt has joined as a chartered accountant while Abbie Hetherington has been appointed as payroll advisor.
Partner Darren Moynan said word of mouth recommendations was fuelling the company’s organic growth.
He said: “Payroll services is definitely an increasing area and somewhere we can support clients. We needed someone of Abbie’s experience to further develop that offer and manage the service.”
Abbie said: “I began my career unbeknown of the passion I’d find by providing a service which is such a crucial part of any business.
“Payroll is constantly evolving so you have to be driven and able to adapt with the role as, ultimately, we need to be able to retain the level of service we provide.

Richard has spent most of the last 10 years working within the audit sector dealing with large businesses across various sectors.
Richard said: “It’s a great opportunity to be joining a friendly team that provide accountancy services to many local businesses.
“I’m looking forward to using my experience and knowledge to help clients achieve their goals.”
Senior promotions at Napthens Group’s Kendal office
A leading North West law firm has confirmed new promotions across its rural, real estate and employment teams.
The Napthens Group has appointed Diane France and Melissa Haigh to senior associate solicitors at the firm’s Kendal and Blackburn offices.
Natalie Parkinson, who works under the AfterAthena brand of the Napthens Group, is also promoted to senior associate solicitor.
In the firm’s real estate team, Yasmin Blamire from the Kendal office has become a senior associate solicitor.
