A Cumbrian business has been nominated for a national farming award.
Eden Yard, near Penrith, has been named as a finalist in the Diversification of the Year category in the British Farming Awards.
Eden Yard was launched two-and-a-half years ago as a farm diversification business by Jannike and Ben Taylor.
They produce award-winning homegrown rapeseed oil, famed for its health and environmental benefits, from their 600-acre farm at Plumpton near Penrith.
Their oil, flavoured oils, mayonnaise, dressings and honey are stocked in over 70 retailers and supply restaurants across the north.
Jannike said: “We were thrilled to be nominated for these awards run by the Farmers Guardian and now to reach the final five across the country is just incredibly exciting.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in October.
