Family business owners looking at life after leadership are being encouraged to join the FamBiz Afterlife event next month.
Hosted by The Family Business Community in partnership with Rathbones, it will be held on Tuesday October 7 at The Crooklands Hotel in Kendal from 10am to 1.30pm.
The event is designed for those preparing to step back, or who have already handed over day-to-day operations, offering a safe and supportive environment to share experiences and explore what comes next.
John Holliday, executive chairman of Gretna Green Ltd, will be the main speaker.
He joined Gretna Green in 2023, having previously worked in media. A former professional footballer and Cumbrian farmer’s son, John will offer a unique take on leadership, succession and growth from the perspective of a non-family business leader, organisers said.
A panel of trusted advisors will also share insights, featuring Gregory Winter of Rathbones, Jamie Allison of Napthens, and Tom Minnikin, of Forbes Dawson.
