An event to mark International Men’s Day will be held next month.
Organised by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, the event at Tullie in Carlisle on November 19 aims to be an uplifting experience to help people explore resilience, mental health, and recovery.
Keynote speaker is Andy Steele, an ex-paratrooper and firefighter whose powerful story of overcoming PTSD continues to inspire audiences across the country.
Andy began his career in the British Parachute Regiment in the late 1980s, before spending 16 years with Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service.
After facing a series of traumatic experiences in the line of duty, he developed post-traumatic stress disorder — a turning point that ultimately led him on a journey of profound personal transformation.
Andy discovered tools to help him rebuild his life and sense of self. Today, he uses those methods to support others in overcoming trauma and rediscovering hope.
The morning event, which starts at 9.15am, will begin with relaxed networking before Andy takes to the stage to share his remarkable story, followed by an open discussion and questions from the room.
The event has been sponsored by Stramongate, Alec Pearson Coaching, Komatsu Forest, and Cartmell Shepherd.
