Fourteen hotels in the Lake District and Cumbrian have been named among the best 250 venues in the UK in a prestigious guide.
The Telegraph’s Top 250 UK Hotels for 2026 aims to showcase the very best that British hospitality has to offer.
The selected hotels were assessed against a range of criteria, including location, character, service, facilities, rooms, food and drink, and value for money.
Each property featured in the guide was independently reviewed by a network of 60 expert reviewers.
The interactive guide allows readers to search for hotels by postcode or region and apply filters such as dog friendly, city or accessible to help find the perfect stay.
Linthwaite House at Bowness-on-Windermere was among the venues to make the guide.
Karen Irving, general manager at Linthwaite House, said: “We’re all absolutely over the moon to have been recognised alongside our peers as being among the best in the UK. As a hotel business, recognition like this means a great deal.
“It’s a real credit to the team at Linthwaite House, who care enormously about the experience we deliver and curate for our guests every day of the year.”
