
A Cumbrian creamery has scooped a number of awards for its cheeses.
Appleby Creamery is celebrating major successes at prestigious national and international awards.
Eden Smokie has won a gold medal at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards this week in Stafford, with Eden Valley Brie returning with a silver and bronzes for Smoked Hootenanny and Black Dub Blue.
It followed success at last week’s Royal Highland Show, where Appleby Creamery took home several awards in the prestigious Scottish Dairy Products Championship including two Best Speciality Cheese Awards for its Black Dub Blue cheese, Best Exhibit in Show and Best Non-Scottish Cheese plus a gold medal, with a bronze for Eden Valley Brie and silver for Eden Smokie.
A spokesman for Appleby Creamery said: “The team are absolutely thrilled with this fantastic news and the business continues to develop with two new employees are joining the team in the next few weeks.”
