[T]he Cumbrian office of award-winning housebuilder, Story Homes, has committed to supporting nine charities and community groups which applied for funding in the third quarter of its ‘Future Story’ scheme.

This is a company-wide programme designed to support sponsorship or donation requests from charities and community organisations that surround Story Homes’ developments in Cumbria, south Scotland, the North East and the North West.

The housebuilder accepts applications via its website all year round, with a regional committee reviewing submissions on a quarterly basis. 45 organisations have so far been supported in total this financial year.

Carlisle Community Choir, Clifton Primary School, Independent Community Autism Activity Network, North West 4 x 4 Response, St Benedict’s Catholic High School, Team Evie, The Border Kirk, The Carnegie Theatre Trust and The Whitehaven Academy have all been selected to receive a financial contribution.

Projects that Story Homes will support this quarter include the Rock Challenge performing arts competition, the purchase of vital flood safety equipment, the development of an outdoor education area and the purchase of a new choir keyboard.

Ian Storey, Managing Director for Story Homes in Cumbria & South Scotland, commented: “We’re proud to say that our business is committed to being a ‘good neighbour’ and this includes supporting communities in ways that add long term value. Story Homes endeavours to provide help and support for charities and organisations that benefit local people and have a positive impact in the region. We’re thrilled to be supporting another nine organisations this quarter and we look forward to hearing about the progress of the projects.”

Story Homes is now inviting charities and community groups to apply for support in the next quarter. Applications for sponsorship, donations or raffle prizes should be made by completing the form at storyhomes.co.uk/sustainable-story.
