
A Cumbrian eco building firm has appointed a new sales manager.
Ecological Building Systems, headquartered in Carlisle, supplies of natural building products for sustainable construction.
Martyn Hornsby has been appointed to the firm’s newly created sales manager role.
Martyn has worked for multiple high street retailers in senior roles and has recruitment experience, where he placed staff for construction clients including Ecological Building Systems and the third sector.
Lorna Graham, deputy general manager of Ecological Building Systems, said: “We had known Martyn for some time and he has a proven track record in managing teams and working both with consumers and large commercial customers
“Demand for natural building materials is high and, as our enquiries grow every month, Martyn is playing a key role in driving forward sales and enhancing our customer experience.”
Ecological Building Systems recently doubled the size of its premises, acquiring a new warehouse and office unit next to its existing facilities.
The company relocated its sales, logistics and purchasing teams into the newly refurbished 40,000 sq ft space, as part of its growth and expansion.
Within the new premises, Ecological Building Systems has a showroom which is open to self-builders, home renovators and professionals to demonstrate its range of natural building products.
Ecological Building Systems was established in County Meath, Ireland in 2000, the UK division was set up in 2007.
Ecological’s parent company is MacCann & Byrne, a family-owned company steeped in history having been established on the same premises in Athboy since 1906.
