Cockermouth Brewers Fayre 250 deserving people from local community groups and charities were treated to a slap-up meal to celebrate the opening of the brand new Brewers Fayre pub restaurant in Cockermouth.

Cockermouth Brewers Fayre serves up a varied menu of the nation’s favourite pub dishes in a family-friendly setting. The restaurant opened at the start of March, creating over 40 new jobs in the area.

Cockermouth Brewers Fayre 3The honorary guests included families from local autism organisations I CAAN and Autism Support Allerdale and Copeland, the Cumbria Community Foundation, the 9th Cockermouth Brownies and the Mary Platt Methodist Pre-School.

All guests, who were invited after a media appeal urged Cockermouth locals to nominate community groups and causes deserving of a treat, enjoyed a three-course meal as well as an appearance by special guests Dennis the Menace and Gnasher.

Cockermouth Brewers Fayre 1Jamie Loryman, General Manager at Brewers Fayre Cockermouth, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the worthy members of these commendable organisations to come along and enjoy a meal on us as a thank you for the positive contribution they make to our local community. It’s a great way to celebrate the official opening of the new restaurant, which is a great addition to the Cockermouth area, offering excellent value meals in a family-friendly setting.

“From burgers, curries and steaks to chilli, scampi and salads on the main menu, as well as a great range of classics on the flexible kids menu, there is something for all the family. Our Chef’s Counter offers a different feast each night of the week, including Chip Shop Tuesdays and Fridays, Peri Peri Saturdays and our famous Sunday Carvery. Great deals such as two mains for £10.99 make for an affordable family meal, or families can start the day with our extensive unlimited breakfast buffet, served until 10:30am on weekdays and 11am at the weekend.

“Our talented team of over 40 staff has recently completed an extensive training programme, ensuring we can offer a fantastic guest experience in a warm and relaxing environment and we look forward to welcoming many more Cockermouth locals in the future.”
