Sara Davies has been revealed as the keynote speaker for this year’s Conference Cumbria.
Sara is the founder and CEO of Crafter’s Companion, which she started while studying for a business management degree at York University.
Her line of innovative products for the craft market (including The Enveloper) were an instant hit and she left university with a first-class honours degree and a business turning over £500,000.
To date, Crafter’s Companion has collected more than 30 awards for the company’s achievements and for Sara’s accomplishments as an entrepreneur.
In 2019, Sara was named as the youngest entrepreneur to join BBC One’s Dragons’ Den and she danced her way to week seven on series 19 of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.
She regularly co-presents on BBC’s magazine programme, Morning Live, and judged BBC’s Ultimate Wedding Planner.
Sara is due to launch a new show, The Big Idea Works, which will help aspiring inventors take their innovative ideas from paper to create fully functional, commercial products.
Now in its third year Conference Cumbria, organised by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, is already shaping up to be bigger and better than last October and with a venue capacity of over 300.
Lesley Robinson, head of business support with the chamber, said: “It’s a real coup for the chamber to secure such a high profile speaker and we’re super excited to welcome Sara to Cumbria.
“Sara herself will be a real draw but the day also includes other speakers, a panel discussion, business exhibition and lots of networking opportunities as you’d expect.”
Conference Cumbria takes place on Thursday October 2 at the Derwent Pencil Museum in Keswick.
