Nick Heaney of CWH Accounting

Local accountant, Nick Heaney, has announced the opening of his new accountancy practice, CWH Accounting.

Nick, who is originally from Whitehaven, moved away for a number of years to work for a national firm. He and his young family missed Cumbria and so returned in 2017 when Nick took on the role as Accounting Director for a local professional services practice. Nick’s background means he has a wealth of experience in working with a wide variety of business types and sectors from motor trade and construction though to hospitality, leisure and tourism, and agribusiness.

The new practice aims to provide clients with an exclusive and customised service where client numbers are not the driving factor. Nick adds; “By striving for quality over quantity, I not only ensure my clients get a personalised service, but it also enables me to be pro-active, adapt to tech changes efficiently, and react to enquiries quickly.”

Services include support with tax, compliance, business start-up, consultancy, and much more. Clients will also have access to employment law advice, commercial legal consultants, and support with health and safety enquiries through CWH Accounting’s collaborative network. This enables the practice to offer the same level of service and advice that a business would expect from a larger firm but at a cost-effective price.

On starting a new business during a global pandemic, Nick says; “I always wanted to have my own practice but life carries us along, other opportunities arise, and so it took a back seat for a number of years. However, when Covid-19 hit, I suddenly found myself with a lot more time to consider my options and so I decided to take the plunge and I set up CWH Accounting.

I want to control my own future so that I can provide the type of client service businesses need, want, and deserve. An article in a recent issue of The Institute of Chartered Accountants magazine stated that now is a great time to start a practice as business owners need good pro-active accountants and advisors now more than ever and I strongly believe that.”
