Another Weigh Kendal

The not for profit zero waste shop Another Weigh today added online ordering as an additional shopping option for customers. Another Weigh, which opened in Penrith in January 2019 and Kendal in December 2019, is dedicated to reducing waste by improving shopping habits towards a more sustainable lifestyle and protecting the planet for future generations.

Food and other goods sold at Another Weigh is available loose and customers simply bring along their own, reusable, containers and buy the amount of food needed resulting in no wasteful packaging or food waste.

Another Weigh, Penrith

Zoe Hedges, manager Another Weigh Penrith, said: “The Covid-19 restrictions have seen customer shopping habits shift with fewer people making physical visits to the shop but still shopping with us by phone or email. Our online ordering system simplifies that process for everyone allowing customers to see exactly what we offer and order exactly what they need.

Anne-Marie Sanderson, manager of Another Weigh Kendal also commented: “Another Weigh, in both Penrith and Kendal, was one of the first shop to support customers from day one of lockdown by delivering our products to customers with a network of local volunteers. It is our intention to continue to support our customers in any way we can through this extraordinary time. Online click and collect shopping and local delivery for those who have to self-isolate extends our efforts to date.”

To place an order online customers can go to www.anotherweigh.uk/order where they can select the quantity of the product required and place the order. Food items will be put into paper bags. Liquids and peanut butter will require the customer to bring in their own containers to the shop so they can be filled.

The price shown in the basket and at checkout is based on the exact weights entered but the actual weights may differ slightly when the order is prepared, so the pricing provided is an estimate. Customers should allow a couple of days for the order to be prepared after which Another Weigh will call the customer to arrange payment.

Another Weigh stocks some 400 lines of food and non-food products including cereals, grains, pulses and legumes, nuts and seeds, dried fruits, baking products, snacks, herbs and spices, cleaning and household products, toiletries. Operating profit from Another Weigh supports Another Way the educational environment charity.
