Despite everything that we are all currently experiencing at the moment Carlisle Ambassadors is continuing to go from strength to strength, welcoming its 250th member business – Oscars Pet Foods Carlisle – just four months after welcoming Explosive Productions at its 200th member business.

For over five years Carlisle Ambassadors has provided local businesses and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to build relationships, to share knowledge, to help grow the city and ultimately create jobs. Perhaps now more than ever this network is more important than ever, especially with its focus on local businesses working together and supporting each other.

Throughout the last six months they have continued to support their membership as much as possible by providing access to regular weekly Zoom meetings, regular newsletters, social media hang outs and shout outs, a business mentor programme, a videoing project to help members, an extensive directory, telephone and online support and range of online business-related resources.

We all know that building a successful business takes time and effort, and now more than ever it’s only sensible to be part of a network of businesses who share a similar passion and determination to succeed. Being part of Carlisle Ambassadors provides countless to expand your business knowledge, to learn from the success of others, to acquire new clients, tell others about your business and to build a network of like-minded colleagues.

Now more than ever it’s vitally important that you step up to the plate and become a member of Carlisle Ambassadors and that you play your part in driving change for the City in the aftermath of Covid-19. Get involved in helping our communities, our businesses, and our places unlock their potential for growth, let’s secure the future of our city as a place where business gets done on a local, regional, and national scale.

Stuart Edgar, Oscar Pet Foods Carlisle, said: ‘’I am pleased to know that OSCAR Pet Foods Carlisle have become the 250th Member of the Carlisle Ambassadors. Joining a group that promotes Carlisle, the city, and the surrounding area from both an economical perspective and simply to raise the awareness of this great city is an integral part of our strategy to promote ourselves as a local business. Local businesses and supporting those companies/organisations is crucial to the future of the area. We are just setting off on our adventure but having been involved with Carlisle Ambassadors with my previous employer, I know the benefits the group brings. Even if it is just to utilise the networking opportunities, or the Give A Day projects, there is something for all businesses large and small. The age-old adage, you get out what you put in! so see you all at future events!’’

Michelle Masters, Carlisle Ambassadors project lead commented: ‘’We are thrilled to welcome Stuart from Oscar Pet Foods Carlisle as our 250th member. It’s great to see businesses recognising the value of working together, even more so in the difficult times we are faced with currently. Together we are stronger when we work with each other, times are hard and may well become more difficult in the coming months but eventually we will come out of this and then we can refocus on putting Carlisle on the map as a place in to live, work and visit.’’

Leader of Carlisle City Council, Cllr John Mallinson added: “It’s great to see Carlisle Ambassadors welcoming more members and going from strength to strength. In these unprecedented times we all need to work together and support each other. Carlisle has a lot to offer and we should be proud of the economy and our businesses.”
