A leading Cumbrian accountancy firm has appointed an operations manager.

Lamont Pridmore has announced that David Smith joins the South Cumbria team of the family-run firm of Chartered accountants, tax and business advisers and will work across the firm’s offices in Kendal, Barrow and Carnforth.

A highly knowledgeable ATT qualified accountant, David has over 30 years’ experience working in practice, where he has focused on supporting owner managed businesses, mainly in Cumbrian firms, across all aspects of accountancy work.

As operations manager, David’s role will see him reviewing and managing the accounts production process, working closely with other members of the Lamont Pridmore team.

The firm said his expertise would make sure of a productive workflow throughout the office, supporting clients to not only meet their statutory deadlines but to also consider their future actions to build a stronger business.

His previous experience working with owner managed businesses in Cumbria will ensure David can support clients with their accounts, VAT, Corporation Tax and other technical queries.

David said: “I’m delighted to join Lamont Pridmore and have already got to know many of the clients and understand the challenges and pressures they face within their businesses.  Having spent most of my working life in Cumbria, I’m very familiar with the different sectors which are so vital to the area.”

Karl Burrell, managing director of Lamont Pridmore South Cumbria, said: “David has already proved to be a huge asset to our South Cumbria team.

“His vast experience in practice means he is perfectly placed to assist our clients with a wide range of accountancy issues and support our wider team to further develop their own skills and knowledge.

“Our strength as a medium sized family-firm run means we can offer a huge range of expertise to our clients but with a team who can take the time to understand their businesses and deliver a personal approach.”

When not working, David is a keen member of Kendal Cycle Club. He lives in Kendal and enjoys spending time with his four adult children.
