[B]ooths in Penrith will welcome 14 of its finest food and drink producers on July 22nd, for a programme of tastings and opportunities to meet the talented makers behind some of the family retailer’s most popular products. Five of the producers attending are Cumbrian locals.

Visiting store will be Bells of Lazonby, family bakers who were recently awarded Outstanding Family Business of the Year.  They have supplied Booths for decades and will be offering samples of their delicious new sourdough bread range.

Customers will also be able to meet Lakes Distillery who produce award-winning Cumbrian gin and vodka, and Appleby Creamery, whose cheese is distinctive by nature and created in small batches with time honoured skills.

Other producers attending the Best of Booths event include Hawkshead Relish, Yumish, Faith in Nature, Kwan’s Kitchen and Claire’s Handmade.

Penrith Store Manager Megan Helly said “We are really looking forward to welcoming some wonderful producers to our store this Saturday. Many of Booths suppliers are local and even more of them are family businesses, so why not join us for a coffee in the café before having a stroll around store to taste their wares and hear their stories? Our own instore experts on the fish, deli and butchery counters will also be on hand with tips for weekend cooking and trying something new.”
