[O]ne of the largest insurance brokers in the UK, with annual client premiums of over £70m, have opened for the first time in Workington as part of their ongoing expansion plans. The County Group, current Insurance Brokers of the Year have appointed Karen Gibson as Branch Manager and Lea Blackwell as Sales Executive following the recent closure of the local Swinton branch in Workington.

As traditional brokers similar to Swinton are closing down their branches at an alarming rate, The County Group is delighted to announce the opening of a newly refurbished branch at 26 Jane Street, Workington.

Karen Gibson will join The County Group after successfully managing the Swinton branch for the last few years. She has a wealth of experience in Customer Service and improved the new business and customer satisfaction scores to a record high. Her experience, reputation and connections in the local area make Karen the perfect fit for the role of Branch Manager.

Joining Karen, is Lea Blackwell who is also highly knowledgeable having worked at Swinton for over 25 years, her vast experience in the Insurance Industry will be invaluable to Karen in providing great levels of service to our Workington customers.

The County Group currently has 22 branches in England & Wales, employing 250 people and will secure over £70m worth of personal and business insurance premiums for their clients in 2017. The company have experienced rapid growth in recent years due to their unique objective of ‘bringing insurance back to the community’ whilst working hard to compete with the choice and prices available online.

Workington has been carefully chosen as the ideal next location for The County Group with lots of passing trade within the shopping centre. Karen and Lea’s extensive level of expertise, coupled with competitive prices from many of the leading insurers, is the perfect solution for local people and business owners who value the personal touch.
