[T]he Beeches at Ford Park in Ulverston has officially launched, with Town Mayor Cllr Paul Smith and Chair of the Trustees of Ford Park David Hefferman, joining other local faces to open the front door to the scheme.

The collection of eight luxury homes – a joint venture between Lancet Homes and local Cumbria builders Modlar Homes – have been available to buyers since a sales launch held in the summer, but Saturday’s event marked a formal occasion with a live radio broadcast by The Bay Radio.

Scores of local people, predominantly local families, came for a look around the show home and broader scheme – which sits at the entrance to Ford Park. Speaking at the launch Modlar Homes’ Steve Cumberbatch, himself an Ulverston native, said: “It was brilliant! I was delighted to meet so many lovely local people who came to see what was on offer, it’s the first real chance to show off the intricacies of these homes which have been built to a very high spec with some great detailing including extensive stonework to the façade – something which went down well with customers!”

Two of the properties have already sold, a further two reserved, leaving just four homes remaining. Prices start at £375,000 and Help to Buy is available for eligible customers; all of the homes are freehold.

Lancet Homes sales manager Carolyn Walsh concluded: “We’ve made these properties as accessible and attainable as possible, bringing incredible quality in an amazing setting. The feedback at our official launch was wonderful to hear.”
