Stephen Quick

[S]tephen Quick of Kendal’s Rathbones Investment Management has has earned the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.

The CFA charter, the most respected and recognised investment credential in the world, represents a tradition of upholding the highest standards of education and integrity in the investment profession. The charter is recognised globally as the definitive standard by which to measure the competence, integrity, and dedication of serious investment professionals.

An Economics graduate from the University of York, Stephen is an Investment Manager offering discretionary investment management services for private clients, financial advisers, pension funds, charities, companies and trusts. In particular, Stephen specialises in the management of investment portfolios of £250,000 or above in value.

Stephen joins an elite group of UK based CFA charterholders and becomes part of the minority to be based outside of London. As well as holding the CFA charter Stephen is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and an Affiliate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners – of which only a small number of individuals globally can claim to be associated with all three professional bodies.

Stephen Quick, Investment Manager at Rathbones, said: “I am a firm believer in striving for the very highest investment industry standards, the CFA charter is an important way to demonstrate that these are being upheld. Furthermore, I am very proud to illustrate that the level of professional expertise and technical knowledge required to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst designation is present in the North West of England.”

The first CFA exam was administered in 1963. Due to the rigor of the program, only around one in five candidates who enroll in the CFA Program pass all three exams and meet the professional and ethical requirements to earn the charter. Candidate surveys report that preparation for the three exams typically requires at least 900 combined hours of study and, in total, takes most candidates between two and five years. Earning the designation demonstrates mastery of the skills most needed for investment analysis and decision making in today’s fast-evolving global financial industry.

The CFA Program is firmly grounded in the knowledge and skills required every day in the investment profession and covers ethical and professional standards, securities analysis and valuation, international financial statement analysis, quantitative methods, economics, corporate finance, portfolio management, and performance measurement.

Established in 1742, Rathbones Brothers PLC is one of the UK’s largest and longest established wealth management firms. With offices at The Stables, Levens Hall and across the UK, Rathbones is renowned for offering each of its clients a bespoke, personal service and for providing high quality investment management services.
