The Eden Leaflet Swap and Networking Event last year
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

A popular networking event for tourism businesses is to be staged at Hutton-in-the-Forest for the second year.

The 2020 Eden Leaflet Swap and Networking event will be hosted by the historic house, home of Lord and Lady Inglewood, in partnership with Eden District Council’s Tourism Team.

It is free and takes place on Thursday March 19 between 2pm and 4pm on a drop-in basis.

Accommodation and tourism operators will be able to meet the people behind a wide range of Eden attractions and find out what’s new about this year’s tourism offer in the Eden Valley, North Pennines and Ullswater area.

Representatives of around 18 Eden attractions will be attending including two of the region’s main literature distribution companies.

Along with the chance to network and swap leaflets there will be tea and coffee and the opportunity for a look around some of the rooms at Hutton-in-the-Forest. The house does not officially open to the public for the season until 1 April, so this is a unique opportunity to see inside the house with knowledgeable guides on hand.

There will be a prize draw with prizes kindly donated by participating tourism businesses.

“We are delighted to be staging the Eden Leaflet Swap and Networking Event at Hutton- in-the-Forest this year,” said Councillor Mary Robinson, Eden District Council’s Commercial Services Portfolio Holder.

“Our Tourism Team has responded to tourism operator requests for such an event to happen.

“Around 18 businesses are taking part and we look forward to welcoming accommodation providers and others connected with Eden’s vibrant tourism industry to this event. It offers a unique chance for people to meet tourism businesses face to face, discover new products and services plus look around one of Eden’s beautiful stately homes.”

Pamela Davidson, House Administrator at Hutton-in-the-Forest said; “We are pleased to be working with Eden District Council’s Tourism Team to put this event on again because of the amazing feedback we received from business owners last year.

“This is a great way for accommodation providers to network and work together with the aim of helping the visitors get the most out their stay in the beautiful Eden district.”
