An interactive webinar is to explore what ‘hybrid working’ means for businesses.
Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (CLEP) is set to host an interactive webinar on May 27, exploring the difference the pandemic has made to the way that we work, with more people than ever working from home or doing a combination of home and office working – hybrid working.
The workshop will address questions such as: What does this new way of working mean for your business? What does it mean for productivity, health and wellbeing, skills and talent and managing systems and processes? And are there any legal implications for your businesses, and if so what are these?
Jo Lappin, chief executive of CLEP and chair of the Local Resilience Forum’s Business and Economic Response and Recovery Group will host the session, with the employment and training team at Baines Wilson LLP discussing the legal implications.
Jo Lappin, said: “A wide range of research indicates that after the pandemic many workers and employers want to continue to work from home at least some of the time, presenting new opportunities for organisations to establish new ways of working.
“Many organisations are now considering what hybrid working means for them, how they might meet this new employee demand, and what will need to be in place in order for these new ways of working to be effective.
“This workshop aims to review the topic, and address any questions and issues businesses may be facing, so that implementation is supported and benefits both employees and organisations. We hope that as many local business leaders as possible are able to join us to share their experience and their thinking on the implications of this, going forward.”
Joanne Holborn, head of employment and training at Baines Wilson LLP, said: “Businesses have had to adapt their working practices quickly due to COVID-19. Many companies are now reviewing what will work best for them and their employees longer term as restrictions are gradually lifted.
“It is important for employers to understand the legal implications of a permanent move to hybrid working.
