Jacobs has been selected to help the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority improve efficiency and reduce operational costs at sites across its estate.
The multi-disciplinary firm and its supplier PA Consulting has been awarded a four-year asset management contract.
It will support the authority, which is in charge of cleaning up 17 nuclear sites across the UK including Sellafield, applying new digital decision-making tools.
Clive White, Jacobs critical mission solutions international senior vice president, said: “Harnessing our deep domain experience and best practices, combined with our data-driven, digitally-enabled solutions, we will help the NDA drive improvements and secure better outcomes.”
Some of the work Jacobs will undertake will include installing sensors on equipment to record data, which can then be used to generate information to help manage the kit more efficiently and at a lower cost.
