A new Lake District destination for craft beer and real ale enthusiasts is set to open its doors this month, creating up to 20 new jobs.

Bowness Tap Rooms, in the heart of Bowness, will have up to 90 covers. An £150,000 investment is currently underway to revamp the venue.

Owner by High Spirits Leisure Group, the company said it will offer craft beers from around the country but priorities above all else local Cumbrian brands.

The group runs the Ambleside Tap Yard, plus The Flying Fleece in the town and The Flying Pig and The Arts Bar in Bowness, the Howbeck Guest House in Windermere and The Yewdale Inn in Coniston.

The venue will serve beers from three 880-pint copper tanks, hand-pulled cask ales and an international range of draught beers.

Alex Mauro managing director of High Spirits, said: “We are truly passionate about craft beer, and we strongly believe that everybody deserves to experience beer at its best.

“After the success we’ve seen in Ambleside with the Tap Yard, we wanted to bring its little sister to Bowness in order to expand our offering to a wider audience.”
