Barrow and Furness MP Simon Fell has invited Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to visit BAE Systems.
Mr Fell, who was taking part in Prime Minister’s Questions, praised the Barrow workforce and the international endeavour to keep the UK and Australia safe from potential aggressors.
Mr Fell said it had been an honour to welcome Australia’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese to Barrow last week.
He added: “Will the Prime Minister come to Barrow to see the programme for himself, and also to meet with me to see how we can best leverage the opportunities from this for the people of Barrow, for generations to come?”
Mr Sunak praised Mr Fell for his continued championing of Barrow and Furness and said that he looked forward to taking Mr Fell up on his invitation.
