A Cumbrian apprentice is celebrating getting top marks and has thanked his employer for its support.
Daniel Blenkinsopp, 19 , of Durranhill, Carlisle, joined Andersons Ltd in 2021.
Daniel joined as a Level 3 business administration apprentice at Carlisle-headquartered kitchen manufacturer and retailer, which also offers flooring and timber supplies.
He learnt all aspects of the business from accounts to time in the warehouse.
He was based at Denton Holme but also visited the firm’s other branches in Barrow, Dumfries, Kilmarnock and Stranraer as part of his training.
He spent a day a week at Carlisle College to learn about the theory behind business administration.
Tam Branney, sales director, said: “Everyone in the business has been very impressed with Daniel and have given excellent feedback without being asked for it.
“He understands the business very well, is very confident in dealing with customers and has a very good work ethic.
“He is an asset to the company and a great example of how apprentices can boost firms.”
Daniel said: “I have enjoyed the apprenticeship with Andersons as well as the training process with it and getting to meet new people and new experiences. There wouldn’t be anything I would do differently.
“I would highly recommend an Andersons apprenticeship to anyone who is looking for that sort of thing, as they are very supportive with anything you need within the workplace and also while you’re on your college course.”
