A new conference will be held later this year which aims to inspire, empower and elevate people living and working in Cumbria.
Organised by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Cumbria Business Growth Hub, Conference Cumbria will take place on October 3 at Energus, Lillyhall, near Workington.
Organisers say it aims to equip people with the know-how and motivation to take their career and business to the next level and pave the way for future success.
There will be a day of inspirational talks, a panel discussion, and networking with the afternoon keynote delivered by international speaker and the creator and author of Celebrity Service & Celebrity Service Superstars, Geoff Ramm.
During his career, he has challenged and inspired entrepreneurs, high performance teams and organisations across 47 countries to create award winning ideas to outperform the competition.
At Conference Cumbria, Geoff will be sharing the secrets behind Celebrity Service and the philosophy, ideas, methods and stories that will have your customers raving about your business!
The morning keynote will be delivered by Teresa Griffiths CBE. Teresa is a non-executive director for North Cumbria Integrated Care Foundation Trust and the chair for the national charity Nurse Lifeline. A consultant in leadership, she also delivers talks and facilitates leadership training at all organisational levels.
Teresa also spent 27 years in the RAF where she specialised in in aeromedical evacuation nursing, pre-hospital emergency care, trauma and resuscitation.
Her operational service includes two deployments to Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Karachi, Kuwait and Baghdad. She has been awarded a CBE, OBE, ARRC and QCVS for her different leadership roles.
The day will also feature a panel discussion, where we’ll hear from inspirational local business leaders including managing director of A Day’s Walk Farm shop Colin Sneath, director of Stan Sherlock Associates Emma Sherlock and general manager at Melbreak Country House Hotel Caroline Hughes.
Head of commercial and business growth at the chamber, Eve Halliday said: “Cumbria is home to so many talented people and thriving businesses. The aim of Conference Cumbria is to inspire these individuals to ‘raise their game’ even further and push their boundaries to unlock their full potential. We’ll be bringing together inspirational speakers from Cumbria and further afield to share their stories, insights, and strategies for success.”
Head of business support, Lesley Robinson said: “It’s a real pleasure to bring Geoff Ramm back to Cumbria, he’s an inspirational, engaging, humorous and honest speaker with a real passion for his subject and area of expertise.
“But Geoff’s only one part of a great day – it’s been a while since the Chamber has held an event of this scale but we’re back with a bang for what promises to be a great day of speakers and networking.”
