A Cumbrian wedding planner has been named the best in the North West at industry awards.
Annabel Candler, of Penrith, who runs Weddings by Annabel, was given the Best Wedding Planner for the North West title in the 2024 Wedding Industry Awards.
Set up in 2011, The Wedding Industry Awards shortlist is created by votes from clients and judged by experts.
Annabel said: “I was utterly shocked and honoured to even be entered into the awards, never mind winning! It’s been a difficult year since I lost my mum in May. She got me into this industry, having a career in PR and events, and was always my biggest cheerleader. Winning this award is a lovely way to showcase what I can achieve in her absence but with all the wonderful support I have around me.”
Annabel has also established a non-wedding part of the business, Creativise Events and also has plans for podcasting, books, and growing her team of co-ordinators.
She added: “I have many grand plans and am steadily growing my teams and my venue portfolio. I’m very lucky to enjoy my job as well as work with some fantastic people!”
As a regional winner, she has been invited to attend the national finals in London in January.
