Businesses will get the chance to hear from Carlisle United’s new American owners at a special networking breakfast next month.
Florida-based Tom and Patty Piatak will give an update on their plans for the club at Carlisle Youth Zone’s Business Breakfast on Thursday February 8.
The event at Brunton Park is sponsored by Knights and supported by Armstrong Watson and Intro PR.
Tom Scaife, employment partner at Knights will chair the discussion, teasing out the Piataks’ experiences in business and details of their plans to build on The Blues’ legacy.
He said: “Everyone in Carlisle was thrilled when the buyout of the club happened before Christmas and this is a great opportunity for businesses to get to know the Piataks a little more.
“We know that they’re really committed to the club, but they also have a wealth of expertise they can share with the business community in the city, so it’s one not to miss.”
The Piatak family, who live in Jacksonville in the US, bought the club in November last year and pledged to turn it into a ‘regional powerhouse,’ making an initial £1.35m investment.
And Blues’ boss Paul Simpson has already used some of the cash to make new signings during the January transfer window.
Caroline Taylor-Beswick, chief executive of Carlisle Youth Zone, added: “This is a hugely exciting time for Carlisle United and the city as a whole.
“We know that the Piatak family are committed to not just the club, but the community too, so we’re thrilled to have them speak at our Business Breakfast.
“It’s encouraging that this event is supported by so many local businesses who as patrons make a financial commitment which enables the Carlisle Youth Zone to support thousands of young people locally. CYZ just wouldn’t be open without such support from the local businesses community that make up the patron network,” she added.
The event starts at 8am and guests can get a free ticket but must register in advance.
