A Carlisle-based family business that provides IT solutions and technical support to local businesses has opened a new retail premises.
Cache4 IT Solutions has converted part of its existing workshop into a new retail space in the Lowry Hill area of the city.
Abigail Crooks, Cache4’s sales and marketing co-ordinator said: “Working primarily with small businesses, start-ups, and non-profits, we understand that establishing an IT budget can be a significant challenge.
“Many of these organisations are also uncertain about whether they have adequate or appropriate cybersecurity measures in place.
“We are dedicated to delivering straightforward, cost-effective IT solutions that support small businesses, helping them thrive.”
The family-run business was established in 2014 by Abigail’s parents Paul and Janet Crooks. Initially operating from their home, the company expanded into an office in 2016 due to early success.
In 2019, they moved to the Lowry Hill premises to support further growth. Abigail joined the team in 2023 with a focus on keeping IT simple and affordable for all.
As well as computer repairs and sales, the firm also helps businesses identify their IT needs and security solutions for the future and offers a lost data recovery service and security system upgrades.
The firm is the first in the region to offer products from German computer brand Terra.
Abigail said: “It’s the first time ever that Terra goodies are up for grabs in this area. We were introduced to Terra during the lockdown frenzy when everyone was scrambling for home office gear and computers were like gold dust.”
The firm acquired the office in Lowry Hill in 2019, serving as a workshop for their IT repairs service. As the business has grown, the need for a retail site has developed to meet increased customer demand for computer servicing and gaming products.
Abigail said: “It’s all part of our plan to grow. The idea is to make the Terra brand more visible and accessible to everyone. Now customers can check out our home, business, and gaming sections in one place.
“Gaming is really taking off nationwide, so this move will help us to reach more customers, and taps into what’s hot right now, boosting engagement and sales potential.”
