H&H Insurance Brokers’ business team has more than 80 years’ combined industry experience

A Cumbrian insurance broker is expanding its team to meet the demands of its growing client base.

Carlisle-based H&H Insurance Brokers has recruited industry specialists and promoted people from within its existing team to boost the services it provides for businesses.

The team of account executives, brokers and account handlers boast more than 80 years of combined industry experience.

It includes Kara Jenkinson who will lead the business team as the firm’s Head of Commercial, and account executives Lee Sparrow and Ruth Wallbank. Account handler Tom McGaffin, commercial brokers Rachel Neile and Kirsty Glencross, and apprentice account executive Ellie Slack complete the team.

Kara, who joined HHIB earlier this year, said: “Our focus on providing a locally based service has seen our client base grow as more people look for a dedicated, personal service, rather than dealing with a faceless call centre.

“As a team we bring together a range of specialist skills, industry knowledge and expertise so we can build on that success and continue to deliver a great service for our clients.”

Kara said while HHIB has a well-established reputation in the agricultural and rural sector, the team also works with clients across a range of different sectors including tourism and hospitality, property and transport.

She added: “We work alongside businesses, from sole traders to large organisations, to provide them with tailor-made insurance solutions, and our new look team will enable us to deliver the right results for even more clients in the commercial sector.”

The move is a part of ongoing expansion plans for the firm, which operates across the North of England, the Scottish Borders and Wales.

In the past year it has taken on several new members of staff and opened a new office in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

Paul Graham, Managing Director of H&H Insurance Brokers, said: “The expansion of the business team signals our intention to grow our client base across the business sector.

“Our focus is on supporting businesses through providing trusted advice and the right policies so they have the peace of mind that they are protected whatever the future may bring.”

One of the UK’s leading independent insurance brokers, HHIB has six regional offices in Durham, Northallerton, Hexham, Newtown St Boswells in the Scottish Borders, and Ruthin and Wrexham in North Wales, as well as its head office at Rosehill, Carlisle.
