Ulverston Business Improvement District will be renewed for the next five years

The results after a 28-day postal ballot, administered by Civica Election Services, were as follows:

  • Total number of votes cast in the ballot, excluding any given on ballot papers rejected – 131
  • Aggregate rateable value of each hereditament in respect of which a person voted in the ballot – £3,363,450
  • Total number of votes cast in favour of the proposed Business Improvement District for Ulverston – 78
  • Aggregate rateable value of each hereditament in respect of which a person voting in the ballot has voted in favour of the proposed Business Improvement District for Ulverston – £2,306,800

This means the proposal to renew the Business Improvement District for Ulverston was approved.

A majority of the business ratepayers in the proposed BID area who voted, voted in favour of the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value and numbers voting.
