Gretna Green Ltd has sold its Greens site to a joinery firm.
Greens restaurant and bar closed in January last year due to economic challenges, but now Gretna Green Ltd said it had completed the sale of the site to CPM Joinery & Building Ltd.
The transaction includes the property and surrounding land.
“Our aim was to place this well-known local site with a responsible owner who shares our interest in Gretna’s long-term success,” said John Holliday, executive chairman of Gretna Green Ltd.
“CPM Joinery & Building Ltd will decide the future use of the site, and we are encouraged by their intent to develop plans that bring practical benefits for residents, visitors and local businesses.”
Chris Muirhead, of CPM Joinery & Building Ltd, said: “We are exploring sensible redevelopment options for the former Greens site with the aim of bringing useful, sustainable facilities to Gretna and creating long-term local value.”
