A Cumbrian technology firm has appointed a new managing director to strengthen operations in its defence and security division.
Dave Clark has been appointed by Createc, which has its head office is in Cockermouth.
The new role reflects both the growth of Createc’s work in this area and the company’s dedication to supporting those who protect people and critical infrastructure.
Createc has a strong history in the UK defence and security sector, from early involvement in the Ministry of Defence SAPIENT programme to delivering advanced sensing, robotics and AI solutions with government and industry partners.
Dave, who was working in France before joining Createc shortly after its formation as a researcher, quickly advanced to director of operations, leading projects from concept through to delivery.
Over the years, he has helped expand the technical team, ensuring the successful delivery of complex, high-impact projects for clients such as the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory and the Home Office.
In his new role, Dave will work closely with Createc’s defence and security partners to drive innovation.
He said: “My focus will be on working closely with our customers and partners in defence and security, helping shape technology that delivers real operational value, and ensuring Createc continues to be a trusted SME partner.

Defence and security is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the UK and EU, with governments committing significant new investment into innovation and capability. The opportunities include autonomous robotics, advanced sensing, situational awareness, and nuclear and CBRNe safety areas.
Createc continues to grow its workforce, with 10 new team members joining so far this year, and further hires expected before the end of 2025.
