Kendal Town Hall will host the North West Resources Forum on Wednesday, welcoming professionals from across the waste, recycling and sustainability sectors for a free day of networking, discussion and knowledge sharing.

The event will bring together representatives from local authorities, businesses, environmental organisations and resource management companies from across Cumbria and the wider North West to discuss some of the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

Following a successful one year anniversary event in Manchester this March, which attracted more than 100 people, the North West Resources Forum is rapidly establishing itself as an important platform for collaboration and innovation across the region, organisers said.

Run by Genee Consulting Ltd, the forum is modelled on the highly successful North East Recycling Forum (NERF), which has been connecting professionals and showcasing best practice for more than 35 years.

The event is designed to support everyone involved in the management of resources and waste, from local authority officers and sustainability professionals to private sector operators and community organisations.

Alongside industry updates and expert speakers, attendees will have the opportunity to build connections with others working across the sector and share ideas on how to improve resource efficiency and support the transition to a more circular economy.

Jo Holmes, managing director of Genee Consulting and chair of the North West Resources Forum, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the North West Resources Forum to Kendal.

“Cumbria has a strong track record of environmental leadership and innovation, making it an ideal location to host this event.

“The forum is about bringing people together. Whether you’re working in waste management, sustainability, local government or environmental services, it’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with others from across the region, learn about the latest developments and explore opportunities for collaboration.”

Organisers are encouraging professionals from across Cumbria to attend and help strengthen regional connections within the waste, resources and sustainability sectors.
