
Barrow’s Business Improvement District will continue for the next five years.
A 28-day postal ballot was held to determine if it should be renewed.
A total of 235 votes were cast and 204 were in favour of the renewal.
The aggregate rateable value of each hereditament in respect of which a person voted in the ballot was £4,465,400 and the aggregate rateable value of each hereditament in respect of which a person voting in the ballot has voted in favour of the proposed Business Improvement District for Barrow was £3,901,900.
The postal ballot was administered by Civica Election Services.
Westmorland & Furness Council said a majority of the business ratepayers in the proposed BID area who voted were in favour of the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value and numbers voting.
Four ballot papers were rejected as they were unsigned, unmarked or void for uncertainty.
