A Carlisle solicitor has risen through the ranks to become her law firm’s first associate.

Amy Rose began at Wragg Mark-Bell with work experience in 2013, joined as a paralegal the following year and went from trainee to newly qualified solicitor to a team leader and now Associate.

And she received her promotion while on maternity leave.

Amy, 28, who works in residential conveyancing, said: “I did all of my training at Wragg Mark-Bell and have moved up the ranks, now becoming an associate, leading a small team.

“I’m really happy about the promotion and grateful that my commitment to my job and the firm has been recognised.

“It was an intense year work-wise with the crazy housing market and the impact of COVID, so having such a positive end to that just as I’ve started maternity leave has been great.

“It’s also really nice to know that my return to work and career progression after maternity leave ends is being supported by the directors.”

Managing director Nick Kennon said: “When Amy did work experience it was clear she was focused and committed to becoming a solicitor.

“At all stages she was eager to progress, so the firm trained her to continue her professional development and it has paid off.

“We like to develop our talent in-house and Amy has been the pioneer of this path.

“Her performance while pregnant with the challenges of COVID in a busy property market was exemplary. She worked very hard for her clients up until her very last day before maternity leave began.

“The directors unanimously agreed that this performance deserved recognition and promotion to associate.”
