A North West accountancy firm has brought in the new year by expanding its team.

Brown & Co, which has an office in Kendal, has welcomed five new team members at the start of this month.

The expansion means the company has grown from five to 30 employees in six years, thanks to an increase in client demand.

Chris Brown, the founder and MD of Brown & Co, said: “We’re delighted to have five new team members joining us this month. It’s a great way to start 2026 and kick off another year of growth for us and our clients.

“I’m sure all our new recruits will fit in really well and be a great support to both the team and our clients as we continue to grow and diversify our portfolio.”

Three new starters have joined the firm’s Kendal office, which is located at Murley Moss Business Village.

Tyreece Barrett and Christine Chapman join as accountants, while Jed Capstick is joining as an assistant accountant.

There are also two new team members at the firm’s Lancashire office. Frankie Crosthwaite and Issi-joi Mciver both join as assistant accountants.

Chris said: “We’re really proud of the relationships that we’re able to build with our clients. It’s important to us that we communicate effectively and don’t use corporate jargon. We talk their language, delivering expert advice in a way which makes sense to busy business owners, and clearly aligns with their ambitions.

“We want each organisation we work with to know they can trust our expertise and our focus on providing quality customer service right across our team. We ensure this by offering a down to earth, yet professional, approach and taking the time to understand each client’s goals, as well as the sectors and environments they operate in.”
