A charity which offers training to young people across the UK has been received a top award in recognition of its work.
Brathay, based at Windermere, offers support to over 7,000 children and young people from primary school age through to their early careers.
It delivers outdoor learning experiences in the Lake District National Park and works closely with young people providing targeted support with families and statutory agencies.
The Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres (AHOEC) has awarded the charity a gold standard to mark outstanding learning opportunities and made the award during the AHOEC National Conference which Brathay is hosting this week.
“This is great recognition of all the hard work and dedication of our team to supporting young people and professional development,” said Steve Randles,
head of delivery (Ambleside) at Brathay.
“Hosting the AHOEC National Conference has been a fantastic opportunity to learn, share best practice, and network within the outdoor sector.
“Together, we’re focused on how we can help young people across the UK develop and become the best they can be.”
