Ten jobs have been created at Carlisle-based Cubby Plant Hire, which has now hired a new general manager.
Mike Graham, who has 20 years of experience in the plant and machinery rental market, joins the firm in the general manager role.
He will help develop long-term customer relationships, enhance its service proposition and help the business continue on its strategic growth trajectory.
Part of the wider Cubby Group, Cubby Plant Hire was set up in 2025 and is a customer-focused provider of plant, machinery and tool hire alongside temporary accommodation and site unit rental.
The business has already created 10 new roles at its Kingstown headquarters and has detailed plans in place for further expansion after recently been appointed onto two Cumberland Council frameworks for operated plant and machinery.
Adam Tinkler, Cubby Plant Hire managing director, said: “Mike has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the local plant hire market and his experience, reputation and knowledge will be a major factor in how we move forward locally and in the wider region.
“We’re aiming to disrupt a very traditional hire sector in Cumbria by providing high quality products and a sector-leading service.
“We have made rapid progress since our formation and earning a place on Cumberland Council’s operated plant framework is recognition both of how far we have come and the quality of the service we offer.”
Mike Graham added: “Joining Cubby Plant Hire is an exciting move and, as a young business, I’ve been impressed by their energy and motivation to provide a top-class service.
“I’m looking forward to leveraging my expertise, by strengthening our product offering and developing successful customer relationships.”
