Cumbria Chamber of Commerce is delighted to recognise the leadership and dedication of patron member Leo Group, which took part in the King’s Circularity in Practice initiative this month.

The launch event, held at the Renew Hub in Trafford Park, Manchester on March 16, brought together business leaders from across the region to support a nationwide ambition to accelerate the transition towards a more circular, resource-efficient economy.

The initiative reflects the King’s longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship and the urgent need to reduce waste, repurpose materials, and embed sustainable practices across industry.

The Circularity in Practice Pledge, signed by participating organisations, sets out a clear framework for action. Businesses commit to adopting circular practices such as reclamation, re-use, remanufacturing, and recycling; putting measurable plans in place within six months; collaborating with partners across the value chain; embedding circular processes within day-to-day operations; and sharing their progress publicly within a year.

Leo Group’s participation highlights their continued commitment to sustainability and innovation within their sector.

As a patron member of the chamber, its involvement demonstrates the strength of Cumbria’s business community and the shared determination to support practical solutions that reduce environmental impact while fostering economic resilience.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for businesses to learn, collaborate, and take practical steps towards reducing their environmental footprint.

James Bridges, head of membership & commercial at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are immensely proud of Leo Group for representing Cumbria at such a significant national event.

“Their participation underscores the values we champion as a chamber: collaboration, responsibility, and a forward-looking approach to innovation.

“His Majesty’s initiative provides a vital framework for change, and it is inspiring to see our patron member leading the way for our region.”

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce will continue to support its members as they explore circular approaches, build new partnerships, and contribute to a more sustainable, resource-aware future for the county and beyond.

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce is an accredited member of the British Chambers of Commerce.
