Carlisle United submit plans for Brunton Park improvements

Carlisle United has revealed plans for a range of improvements to Brunton Park.

The plans cover both the Andrew Jenkins Stand, sponsored by Pioneer Foodservice, and the Warwick Road End, sponsored by Armstrong Watson.

The new plans follow the League One side’s takeover by American businessman Tom Piatak and his family in November 2023.

The club’s chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: “Under the new ownership, we are ambitious to develop and improve Brunton Park – for everyone.

“That is for the players, fans, commercial supporters and visiting guests on a matchday or community users on a non-matchday, as well as staff working here.

“It is for the long-term future benefit of the club and community and shows the commitment to Brunton Park in building something to be proud of.

“We need to improve the viability and sustainability of the club – by growing income and making the best use we can of the stadium – every day. That needs investment and improvement. It will be a long journey, but it’s started already as fans can see in other areas on the West side.

“Our current hospitality is at capacity already and sold out for the rest of the season. Other aspects, like the Warwick, are in desperate need of upgrading, whilst the East stand has huge, unfulfilled potential.”

Plans for the Warwick Road end include:

  • New, upgraded modernised facilities for fans
  • Toilets and food and drink facilities at the Fans Zone and turnstile entrance
  • Increase and improve facilities for disabled fans

Plans for the East stand include:

  • Developing the huge potential of the stand which has been unfulfilled for too long
  • Bring much needed extra capacity for high quality, match day hospitality and dining, and hosting non-matchday events
  • Create four new lounges and eight large viewing boxes, all built to a first-class standard
  • Provide additional analysis and space for football and Academy operations
  • Create longer term space for a museum
  • Explore opportunities to improve the food options in Hopper’s and Ross’s Bar

Mr Clibbens added: “We want to make Brunton Park the place to be on a matchday. That means making it a great experience with the facilities that our fans deserve.”
