A new chief executive has been revealed for the Holker Estate Company.

Stuart Sims will lead the on overall strategy and operations in estate management, farming, tourism, horse racing and holiday parks while retaining oversight of Burlington Stone’s quarrying and production activities.

Group chief executive Allen Gibb has moved to the recently launched Holker Homes Limited to lead the group’s substantial housebuilding operations.

Stuart joined Holker Group in 2019 as finance director and played a central role in guiding the organisation through post-Covid recovery and helping to position it for future growth across its agriculture, tourism, leisure, property and natural resources businesses.

Stuart said: “I’m delighted to take on the role. With its remarkable history and strong set of values, I’m looking forward to building on that as we continue to develop and invest across the group.

“I would also like to thank Allen for his leadership and support over the past few years.

“His stewardship as chief executive has positioned the business strongly, and I look forward to building on that foundation as we take our operating companies into their next phase of development.”

Lucy Cavendish added: “Stuart has made a significant contribution to Holker Group since joining in 2019 and has demonstrated both strong leadership and a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges across our businesses.

“I am very pleased to welcome him into the chief executive role and look forward to working closely with him as we continue to deliver the group’s long-term vision.

“This investment in our leadership capacity reflects our confidence in the opportunities ahead and will ensure we are well placed to support growth, while continuing to strengthen our established businesses.”

Allen said: “Stuart takes on the role of chief executive with a deep understanding of the businesses and region.

“Our diverse operations are in safe hands, and I have no doubt he will bring both continuity and fresh ideas as he leads the next chapter.”
