A Lake District store selling artwork and gifts is expanding by opening a new branch.
National Park Print Shop, which already trades from Windermere, has opened a sister store in Ambleside.
It is run by Ian Battersby and Pete Smith and features work from local artists and across the UK.
Ian and Pete’s Windermere store opened in 2022.
Ian said: “We’re really excited to be expanding National Park Print Shop into Ambleside. We’ve had such a positive reaction to our Windermere store, so it’s great to have even more space in Ambleside to showcase our joyful collection of stickers, pins, patches and gifts that everyone seems to love.”
Ambleside residents, business owners and visitors joined Ian and Pete and their team to celebrate the launch of the shop at a summer solstice party that included a blessing performed by Cumbrian folklore expert Jonathan Cowie and solstice decorations designed by local illustrator Guy Parsons.
Pete said: “We’re especially inspired by folklore and we love seeking out zines that tell these stories. Zines are little magazines designed and printed in small batches by indie artists.”
