[T]he Lake District Calvert Trust is delighted that Progression Solicitors have chosen to continue their charity partnership, raising funds and awareness about the work of Calvert Trust. Progression Solicitors, who have offices in Windermere and Ulverston, have been a loyal supporter of Lake District Calvert trust over the last five years raising awareness through fundraising and networking events as well as raising over £10,000 though sponsorship of Calvert’s catamaran, taking part in sporting challenges such as the Great North Run and organising other fundraising activities.

This is the third year that Progression Solicitors have sponsored the Calvert Trust Catamaran on Windermere, Managing Director Anthony Smith said: “The Calvert Trust does some fantastic work in the Lake District and helping them provide the sailing experiences, particularly to wheelchair users, is a great activity for us to support. We also like to take clients, friends and contacts out for a few hours sailing to help raise the profile of Calvert Trust in the relaxed surrounding of the Lake.”

The Lake District Calvert Trust, based on the shores of Lake Bassenthwaite, is a residential outdoor centre with over 40 years of experience in delivering challenging outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities. They offer exciting residential breaks for schools, groups, families and individuals with their friends and carers, which are accessible to people of all ages including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.

Charitable donations are essential to continue this specialist work and the support from local businesses such as Progression Solicitors is vital in helping to raise funds and awareness.

Jennifer Scott, Fundraising Business Manager for the Lake District Calvert Trust said: “We are delighted Progression Solicitors have chosen to continue their charity partnership with us, not only have they donated funds to support our sailing activities for people with disabilities, they are brilliant ambassadors for the trust promoting our work with great enthusiasm.”
