[L]ocal businesswoman and hospitality consultant Alison Magee-Barker of AJ Lakes Consultancy has been invited to Parliament on Tuesday 11th September 2018.

Alison’s invitation is thanks to her reaching the finals of the Professional Services category of the prestigious Enterprise Vision Awards. She will be attending with a group of seventeen other Cumbrian woman who have also made the finals. Alison specialises in helping hospitality businesses and has worked in Cumbria for the last twenty five years, even appearing on BBC Breakfast as a result of marketing projects she has created and driven for the tourism industry in this area. Alison said:

“I was surprised to have been nominated for the awards let alone make the finals. To top it off, it is a real honour to be visiting Parliament, especially alongside such a brilliant contingent of successful Cumbrian businesswomen.

“I’m passionate about Cumbria and the Lake District, this area is an inspiring place to work and live as well as to visit and it will be wonderful to be representing Cumbrian women in business on the day.

“I love working with hospitality and tourism businesses, it’s what I’ve known ever since I was young and as the industry is vitally important to this area it does give me a sense of pride when I see the results of the projects for my clients. Whatever the outcome of the awards, I have enjoyed the whole process and visiting parliament will be the icing on the cake.”

Voting for the awards is now open and you can vote for Alison at https://evasvoting.co.uk/professional-services-award/
